Pop star gives Tiraspol free open-air concert
TIRASPOL (Tiraspol Times) - In Tiraspol, the capital of Pridnestrovie, this Sunday ended with a large and loud concert by Russian pop star and actress Masha Rasputina, 43.
The open air concert was held in the city's main plaza, the Alexander Suvorov Square, named after the Russian general who founded Tiraspol more than 200 years ago. The square is home to a statue of Suvorov - "the general who never lost a battle" - and is located near Pridnestrovie's Parliament and main government administration.
Entrance to the concert was free. The concert was held in excellent weather with no rain. It celebrated the 110th year anniversary of the Tiraspol wine and cognac plant “KVINT”, which took place this week. Abroad, Kvint is one of Pridnestrovie's best known exporters.
