TIRASPOL (Tiraspol Times) - Far away from the swaying palm trees and soothing bossa nova rhythms of his native land, Brazil's Fred Nelson De Oliveira is now calling Pridnestrovie his home. The Brazilian-born midfielder arrived in Tiraspol in late March as the fifth Brazilian native to have signed with FC Sheriff Tiraspol.

Upon his arrival in Tiraspol, the capital city of Pridnestrovie, Fred was given the number 23 on the new and emerging country's leading football (soccer) team: Now decked out in the yellow colors of his new club, he is proudly wearing the Sheriff badge on his chest.

The South American football (soccer) hope was born on 22 July 22 in Salvador, in the north-eastern state of Bahia, Brazil.
He stands 185 cm tall and weighs 74 kg.

Players from Africa

Fred Nelson De Oliveira's football career started with FC Rio Branco, where he was spotted and signed to Associação Esportiva Recreativa Engenheiro Beltrão, usually known simply as Engenheiro Beltrão, a Brazilian football team from the town of Engenheiro Beltrão, which is located in the southern Brazilian state of Paraná about 40 miles southwest of the city of Maringá.

During the past season of playing for Engenheiro Beltrão, Fred Nelson De Oliveira scored three goals. He was signed to his current contract in Europe shortly after the hiring of Argentinian player Luis "Lucho" Rodriguez.
