TIRASPOL (Tiraspol Times) - Car lovers of all ages had a field day in Tiraspol this Saturday when the capital of Pridnestrovie played host to the yearly auto show and antique cars parade. Along the streets of Tiraspol, spectators from all parts of the city were brought together for the event, part of which was also broadcast to other regions of Pridnestrovie by a local television station.

Dozens of restored antique autos participated, dominated equally by a mix old American and Russian cars. The parade was led by PMR President Igor Smirnov behind the wheel of an antique "Muscovite-2140", a car which he himself used to drive in his youth, and followed by motorcyclists from Pridnestrovie.

The local bikers club made an appearance, as did a team of stunt acrobats who performed a show with their motorcycles.

The day's activities concluded with an obstacle course demonstration by the traffic police division of the Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublica, wrapped up with the surprise appearance of parachute show jumpers from the sky.
