Transnistria wants Moldova to keep its word and respect earlier agreements
President Igor Smirnov wants Moldova to keep its word and not interfere with legitimate exports from Pridnestrovie, or Transnistria as it known in Moldova. In 1997, Moldova signed an agreement allowing Pridnestrovie free foreign trade. That agreement was broken in 2006, in a move which ruined ongoing status settlement negotiations. [more]
