One of Europe's leading steel exporters, Pridnestrovie's MMZ, announced a 35.6% year-on-year decrease in output. In 2006, it suffered a "triple whammy" caused by new Ukraine/Moldova customs restrictions, a Ukrainian tax on raw materials, and Moldova's stop of train traffic.
