Russia sides with Moldova in Varnitsa standoff
Peacekeepers have left the Dniester river port of Varnitsa as jurisdiction is being turned over to Moldovan forces. This resolves a territorial dispute which had been lingering since April. Russia's representatives in the Joint Control Commission voted in favor of Moldova's claim, overriding PMR's objections. [more]
